The role of alumni is a top-most important thing, because we are the ones who actually spread the knowledge gained at Ã山ǿ¼é among other communities, cities, and countries. We are the ones who can inspire next generations to make difference with our own examples.

Ã山ǿ¼é is happy to host for the second time the Ã山ǿ¼é-Bard Summer Internship Program participants this summer in Bishkek. The group arrived in Bishkek on June 11 and is quite diverse. Students from the US, China, Jamaica, and Vietnam represent not only Bard College – Annandale, but also Bard College – Berlin, the University of Vermont, University of Virginia, George Washington University, Tufts University, Swarthmore College, Sweet Briar College, Vassar College, and University of Hong Kong.

Every year, the American embassy in Kabul helps Afghan students to finance their studies at the Ã山ǿ¼é. Sahar Hashimzada is a graduate student from the International and Comparative Politic Department, and she shares some memories about her time in Bishkek with us.

Launched in 2003, the Legal Clinic at Ã山ǿ¼é is an integral part of the academic curriculum for senior students in international and business law. In a fully functioning law office, future legal practitioners receive professional training while providing legal counseling to the population.
Generally, citizens with low-income cannot afford to pay for highly qualified lawyers’ services. For many, free legal counseling is the only means to assert their rights and access justice. At the Ã山ǿ¼é Legal Clinic, enough time is given for detailed discussions with clients, regardless of financial resources.

The Ã山ǿ¼é’s New Generation Academy is seeking ESL specialists to teach English for Academic Purposes and TOEFL Test Preparation courses.ÌýA BA degree in humanities and a certification in TESOL/TEFL are required, an MA degree is preferred. University-level teaching experience is required.

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Ã山ǿ¼é is currently donating part of its collection of books on journalism, public relations, advertising, massÌýcommunications to local universities such as Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Kyrgyz National University, and Bishkek Social Science University.

Not every university has its own farewell traditions, starting with the commencement ceremonies. But Ã山ǿ¼é has its own long-standing customs. This year, more than 200 students graduated on June 6, in the Kyrgyz National Philharmonics Theater in Bishkek.

On 4th of June 2015, the president of Ã山ǿ¼é, Andrew Wachtel, and graduating student of the Economics Department, Iurii Kim, took the Stone out of its historical place to move it to the new campus.

Yesterday, June 3rd, marks the opening of the first international conference in the Kyrgyz Republic on Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM), with a theme of "2015 LSCM Seminar: Challenges, Innovations, and Practical Advice" at the City Hotel in Bishkek.Ìý
